A humpback named Snow White Awoke this morning to find the sunny day had been delivered at last. Unfortunately as we were going whale watching this afternoon I was dressed in long sleeve shirt and jeans! No such thing as wrong weather they tell me just the wrong clothes. Grateful for it though as we boarded the boat in St Catherines Bay some 130 miles NE of Quebec as there was a fair wind and the temperature was a lot cooler ...
... but I understand why they felt this way.
Remember the first week I am here?
I find the churches mundane. They are all the same with painted windows. I felt like there are nothing to do in Quebec City. I was so lonely and bored. But things changed, and I learnt.
My travelling objective is to experience how to live like a local. I should not have the mentality that I want to do and complete things everyday. It ...

The British attacked the city in 1690 and were unsuccessful. Quebec was successfully defended for six decades. In 1759 Quebec fell to Britain. The siege of the city culminated Sept. 13, when British general James Wolfe and his troops scaled the sheer cliffs to reach the Plains of Abraham above ...
... to the city walls and it was an awesome atmosphere to be part of and you would honestly think thou were in France as English is rarely spoken in this city. Being a Sunday night I didn't expect much to be open but across the road from the restaurant was this huge castle looking building that happened to be a night club where all the locals head to, techno french music was being played but it was an awesome night and to top it off it was a foam party ...
... her name is Vanesa and she comes from Argentina and she is very nice. By the way, she is no girl anymore but a woman (36) and she has really beautiful dresses.
I only stay some days in Quebec, but they are memorable.
The people that I met are all very nice and we have lots of really great conversations.
Vanesa introduces me to ther friend JF. I fall head over heels in love with him. Little did I know how much he would change me.

Historical Traveler Reviews Courtyard Quebec City Downtown
Most relaxing experience I've ever had...
Staff are absolutely wonderful; location is excellent by far (Old Quebec City are your doorstep). Try the excellent Italian restaurant down the street (Portofino's I think) - probably some of the best food I've ever ate. Great experience, would definately go back.
Stop Looking, Stay here
Excellent location with excellent facilities. Stop looking for other places, this is the best value for money. You will not be disappointed.
This is an excellent hotel in a location very convenient to Old Quebec. One of the gates is directly across the street. The service and attention from all of the staff was outstanding from the moment we arrived and this continued throughout our 3 day stay. Our room with two queen beds was large, with a large bathroom, and very quiet. Everything was also very clean. Our view was limited but we knew this when we made our reservation. Some of the rooms have a city view overlooking Old Quebec, but at higher rates. Parking is directly across the street in a large enclosed parking deck making access to the car very easy. If Manuel is working, ask him for restaurant suggestions. He gave us suggestions for 7 restaurants ranging from a very popular Italian restaurant, to a small unique restaurant on a side street, to several upscale and fancy French restaurants. We ate at 3 of these, Portofino, La Cuenta, and La Cremaillere and all were excellent. A nice feature is a business center, including a computer for guests to use. The hotel also has a fitness center, hot tub and guest laundry on the lower level. We definitely would stay here again.
Perfect all around
Thie hotel is just step away from the Old Quebec City, could not have asked for a better location. We had a suite, which was very spacious, clean and modern ( no comparison to the courtyard in Montreal) even the sleep sofa was comfortable. I would not hesitate staying here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Courtyard Marriot Hotel Quebec City Downtown
We arrived at the hotel and had to wait for five hours before we got our room. The room was very clean and neat, the staff told us to go to town and wait fortunately the town fair was going on so the wait wasn:t that bad. Tried Azara Thai restaurant food was terrible and expensive, service was mediocre, but definately stay away from Cafe Paris in the main restaurant area, recicled bread and so far the worse food we had.
Our stay at the hotel was very confortable and pleasant, we definately recomend this hotel.
Stayed here over the 4th of July long weekend. Very nice hotel. Staff very courteous. Took advantage of the Marriott lowest price guarantee which saved us an additional 20% off Expedia's already low rate for the City view. View is of St. Jean's gate and Rue St. Jean. Easy walking to everywhere. Room was decorated nicely, a bit on the small side but still okay. Very clean and new. I would not hestitate to stay here again.
Nice Boutique Hotel at the Old City's gate
I stayed at the Couryard by Marriott in mid-June 2004 and was generally happy with my stay.
The hotel is almost new. It is relatively small but the rooms are of a good size and are well decorated. The buffet breakfast in the on site restaurant is good.
The hotel is just outside of St. Jean's Gate so Old Quebec is literally within a one minute walk.
Make sure to ask for a room with a street view as some rooms face the wall of the next building.
I had problems with my reservation request. The room type requested was guaranteed by Marriott Reservations by was unavailable on arrival. Staff provided breakfast vouchers and a cot but we had to wait until the next day for our guaranteed room type. Not like Marriott at all.
The Courtyard Hotel in Quebec City was one of the nicest hotels at which I have ever stayed and the price was very reasonable. From the moment we walked in the front door, we were treated like first class! The doorman was most gracious, and the people at the front desk greeted us warmly. Our luggage was whisked away to our room before we even knew it! Every request that we made during the two nights that we stayed there were immediately attended to.
