    I'm sitting here on my grand parents' porch drinking a cup of coffee and listening to the crickets and all the lovely sounds of nature. I am very content here. I had a great visit to Vermont - ended up staying longer than intended but I was glad to see all of my friends from there and enjoy the familiarity of my surroundings during my stay there.     ... the Cheese Factory" for dinner. Served by an engaging young lady, the best to date. From what we have seen of Boston so far it's a very busy tourist centre. A mixture of old and new architecture and clean. I spent the day in bed in an attempt to shake my cold while the others did the freedom walk. They returned home about 6.30pm. We did have a booking at the Atlantic restaurant for tonight but we cancelled it rather than me go out into the cold night air, so now we a having pizza ...

    ... I'm getting the Cadillac of hats: a Tilley. How do you know they are the Cadillac of hats? They come with a FOUR page user's manual. Most other hats have just two sentences: "Place hat on top of head. Rotate 90 degrees left or right according to preference."

    Book Early, Book Often

    ... options. I wait. Days. When I finally get a hold of the tour group (after a few emails, Skyping and cajoling them by contacting other people about to book) they say that the letter prospects look good. They weren't. Nearly three weeks later, I finally get the response of "No."

    By then the rest of July is booked. Ugh.

    ... week we discovered that a clock and a hair dryer which was supposed to come with the apartment were missing. Our bedroom was in total darkness so without an alarm clock we had no idea what time of day it was. It could have been 3am, or 10am, but when you have to get up at a certain time, what seems like a minor missing item, can really be important.
