        Final Push

A travel blog entry by travelrob on Oct 16, 2014

Tonight is the final push to get everything ready. In spite of always vowing to do better and pack earlier in the process, I almost never do. This trip was no exception. But I think I have everything. Except maybe enough sunblock. I was under the impression that Zambia was not so hot. Apparently it's 38h-28l c. ...

        Pre-departure

... to do over the next 7 weeks, there are 3 things I must do before getting on a plane home:

        1. Try something new

Landscape was relatively flat and varied between urban and rural type development ...

... the hotel and police car pulled us over. Out steps three officers, two young and one older who looked like a former Gestapo sergeant. I think our driver thought that his enemies had finally caught up with him. We sat there not knowing what was happening. In the end it turned out he was being ticketed because it was very foggy, and he had forgotten to turn on his head lights. He said he just accepted the ticket of 25 Euros as he was at fault and didn't want to ...

The Gap Between Haves and Have Nots

A travel blog entry by travelrob on Jun 17, 2012

... lot of the items I had already purchased for my Kenya trip. I guess if you travel enough, you just get a bunch of the stuff that you regularly need. My "overnight kit" now contains enough stuff that I can pretty much go anywhere on a moment's notice and pretty much have enough to survive.

I hope the gap narrows quickly and the have nots turn into haves!
