Things can get pretty interesting down here in southern Texas. Decided to road trip to the Guadelupe River State Park and do some river running. Got camp set up in a beautiful spot...tent camping down here costs the same as an RV? Yep, but still had a great spot for overnight and just soak in the scenery.

We spent the morning visiting the San Antonio Missions, which is a National Historical Park. In fact, before the Alamo was the Alamo it was Mission San Antonio de Valero and was the first Mission established in 1718. There are 5 Missions within about a 9 mile range starting with the Alamo in the center of San Antonio and then south. During the 1700s and early 1800s the Missions were established by the Spanish Friars and functioned ...

        Another problem

A travel blog entry by cruisinseniors on Dec 05, 2014

We picked "G/G" up this morning and I drove over to storage. The refrigerator does not look near as massive today as it did on Wednesday. There is not as much room between the wood trim and the refrigerator as I was thinking. While I was waiting for Bob to arrive, I put the levels down and attempted to extend the slides. I wanted to remove all the packing stuff from the refrigerator. That's when ...

... visiting a Presidential Library and it was a very good one.

Johnson's presidency covered a very tumultuous period of history and maybe that's what made the visit so interesting to us. No matter your politics you can't help being drawn to LBJ's personality. I was impressed with his apparent physical presence and how he seemed to use his body to be ...

        Pub golf in Austin

... first time I had played pub golf, and for those of you who aren't aware it involves a score sheet with 9 holes- each hole is a bar you visit. Each 'hole' is assigned a certain drink with a par, so you have to drink your drink within the par (1=1gulp!) it was difficult explaining this to Aya but we got there in the end. It was a very fun night! I ran out of money on hole 6 with a score of -5 (lower is better like golf) including a hole in one on hole 2!! Hehehe ...
