Hershey, Pennsylvania, United States ericalee... loss of life. <br><br>The park has a great visitors center, where we started the day with a 30 minute movie on the basics of the civil war and how significant the Gettysburg battle was. They then escorted us to the cyclorama......which we said "what is this all about"?? It was sooooo cool. It was a 377 foot painting that showed a 360 degree view of the battle. It was painted in 1884 ....and recently restored. The detail and ...
York, Pennsylvania, United States donhadThe big push continues with another day of cloud watching as some spectacular scenery rolls by. I loved riding up thru WV and MD. Beautiful horse farms, mountains and fall colors kept me from staring too hard at all the dark, ponderous clouds lurking along the hilltops. The temps ranged from 54 to 72 F (briefly). Do not expect to see the 70s again.<br>But at least we are tucked in and no drops have touched the big fella. Just a frost warning for tonight and chilly temps tomorrow.
Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States visionrider... experience that is coming and how it effects not only the lives of the families that we will build beside, but the lives of each and every individual on this trip. In the words of another colleague that was in Guatemala with me two years ago, "I came here to bless others, but I, in turn, have been far more blessed. I feel that my cup is overflowing because of it. My prayer for you is when you leave, your cup will be overflowing, too."<br><br ...

Round 3, one team would roll their tape after the other teams placed their rolls in the aisle, hoping to gain points if they are hit by the rolling tape.<br><br>We actually only got through two rounds. Since then, I've been brainstorming more rules. But today's results were 9-2-0. Quite a victory for the 9-pointers! They were rewarded with two cell phone pockets [we picked up ...

Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States lancasterpahote... this type of dinner. We were rather surprised to learn then that their daughter was a freshman in college and living on her own. They were empty-nesters and looking forward to a quieter life, a new beginning. She was 36 and he was 40! They were literally a generation ahead of our own similarly aged children. And like the bikers at the park, they were very sanguine about their future. She was a hospice nurse at a V.A. hospital, studying for her R.N. He was in the ...

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States reena.ram.king... an hour. I was so excited to get home that this made me very upset. I then boarded my flight to Harrisburg. <br><br>We had pretty serious turbulence on the way back to Harrisburg. The flight attendant was trying to serve drinks, but the plain was so bouncy. Someone actually requested coffee, but she refused to serve it. After a quick 45 minute flight, we landed. I picked up my luggage and met Joe.
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States amberlee... early afternoon, just in time for the inaugural beer tasting. Allan and his son, William, has started a micro (Allan says nano) brewery in the basement and today was the ceremonial opening of the first cask of Burton's Best Bitter. Verdict - classic Engish bitter with a smooth but tangy balance of hops and malt. Had some alcohol content too apparently..... Now just relaxing in the very welcom aircon, before heading out for dinner at Evelyn's place...
