    Travel Day

Because we didn’t have far to travel today we did not rush this morning and had a leisurely breakfast. Once on the road we headed east on US Rt. 40, where we passed through beautiful mountain country containing small towns and large ski resort areas, the road for the most part was good but we did encounter a climb of 6 miles at a 6% grade followed by a descent of 6% for 6 miles and then 4 miles at 5%; ...

Left Golden CO. This morning, last leg of the trip, 800 miles via I 70East. Silos, hay bales & corn fields our scenery for the next 2 days. Made it all the way to Paxico KS. 97 degrees here! Anyway pretty excited that we will be back home by tomorrow afternoon, has been a great trip but there's no place like ...

After a fabulous breakfast and sleeping in slightly, we headed back to Colorado Springs. First stop was the Air Force Academy to take a tour of the grounds. Even the grandson was impressed by the chapel and the square with all the planes from throughout the history of the Air Force. We did stop at the Visitor center and learned more about the Academy. Unfortunately, you cannot drive all the way ...

... and I felt as though it was all mine. As I wondered around, I was filled with an immense excitement. This was my new home...and I am so unbelievable lucky to be able to say that.
As a swarm of Freshman waited outside the gates of the lacrosse field, the atmosphere was buzzing. We were about to go meet our First Semester Seminar Groups on the first day of orientation. No one knew what to expect, how to feel, or what to do. But that was the thrill of it. After years ...
