... my own mom stood the day she got married. I have a vivid imagination and this made the experience all the more intense. <br><br>We walked the university campus streets filled with avant garde art galleries and quaint shops and it gave me chills thinking that my parents were once my age!! It was amazing to see the places where they used to flirt, sit and chat. We visited some cafés where my uncle says they used to spend hours reading, writing and enjoying one another’ ...
Warsaw, Central Poland, Poland natandjames... we sang 'Going In For the Kill', in the hope that she would unwittingly sing along and be UNMASKED! But we didn't see her again :(<br><br>I was amazed by a baby on the Eurostar who was EATING AN APPLE (amazing!) and eventually we arrived in Brussels, where I swiftly navigated us to La Grande Place (as I'd been there 2 months ago)..where we had Belgian waffles and looked around. We only had a couple of hours so after we'd seen busking ...
Warsaw, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland sarahblytheToday was the after wedding picture day. Here they take pics a few days after the wedding. We arrived at Lazienki (royal gardens) and the whle thing took us two hours. It was very hot and humid though. And after we were done came the rain. yuck. Poland weather reminds me of chicago. it's so all over ...
Warszawa, Warszawa, Poland dancera... their ten year-old daughter Francesca. Joe Constantino was producer of the World Tomorrow television program in Pasadena in the 1980's and early 1990's. He and his wife Paula now work at the American Embassy in Warsaw. We had a very interesting conversation about their work in the Embassy and about our old days working for the Worldwide Church of God. The Constantino's are going to be transferred to the American Embassy ...
Warsaw, Poland victorkubikOur first night on the train was fine. The train pulled into platform 5 at Cologne, and we found our little cabin that was to be our home for the next 12 hours. We both found it suprisingly easy to sleep on the train, but you tend to wake up quite frequently and get that strange feeling when you wake up and can't quite figure out where you are. We woke up at about 7:30am, and Sarah pointed out that we were in Frankfurt. Frankfurt? Now my ...
Warsaw, Central Poland, Poland danandsarah... away the lightning is) there was this incredible thunder clap. It almost sounded more like a sonic boom than a clap of thunder it was so loud. In fact it caused the temporary museum thing I was in to shake and, I'm not kidding about this, car alarms went off and dogs were barking as well. Like it said, it was incredible. Let's just say it was enough to make me move on after a couple of minutes even though it was now raining harder than ever. Does anyone know why it rains ...
Warsaw, Central Poland, Poland eileenj... another kebab stand earlier that day to compare and contrasts the differences. Sure enough, Warsaw is just profound for horrible kebabs, not even the Turks working at this one could get it right. I walked back to the hostel rather disappointed and planned my next days travels ahead to Lodz, about 2 hours south of Warsaw to meet my Erasmus friends who are attending University there. These are the same 8 friends that traveled with me from Turkey through Bulgaria and Romania.
Warsaw, Poland jaywehrs... I'll find something to do. It's 2pm and I have lunch of dough filled dumplings. Around 5 pm I attempt to call Rafal again and guess what I actually get thru amazing. He tells me to call him back in around 20 minutes due to the fact he's getting on Metro. No problem, I'll make some food. When I call him back, voicemail. My brother calls around 6:30 and gives the status of his life. He tells me that Unemploymen people have called me stating that I have ...
Warsaw, Poland kasia-wawWe arrived in Warsaw in one piece, which seemed like an achievement after turning left at a busy junction of two main dual carriageways where the traffic lights weren't working and the traffic was going wherever it pleased. Our campsite this time was called "Wok" and was in a residential street. The site was the smallest, we almost drove straight past it as it looked like someone's back garden, and nicest that we encountered. It was only three stars but it was clean ...
Warsaw, Poland gavin.porter... there....not a good idea, but I did see some cool stuff along the way. First I took a brief tour around my hostel's neighborhood. The neighborhood was quaint and beautiful: nice shady trees, pretty old homes, I'm guessing that they were about 100 years old or more, and very narrow streets. All the homes in this neighborhood were primarily private, but there was a small pre kindergarten school down the corner. I could hear the children playing ...
