It was in Detroit, however, that I have begun to realize how much more fun it is to do things with my wife and kids instead of by myself. Sure, going to the grocery store is easier without my wife (she can effortlessly spend 90 minutes in the Wal-Mart getting 45 minutes worth of groceries) and getting an ill-advised but sweet, sweet soda from the gas station is faster ...

    Leaving for Gichigami

A travel blog entry by johnturner on May 24, 2013

The Ojibwe call Lake Superior "gichigami" or "big water". It is the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area and the third largest in the world by volume. It is also the site of many shipwrecks, including the Edmund Fitzgerald.
