    ... new joiner that we were all supposed to meet in the hotel lobby at 9am instead of 7am. He met some random cab driver who used to work on ships and wound up getting a free ride from him to the Sapphire where we filled him in on important information and enjoyed his amusing recount of it all.

    ... to buy a new crucible in order to use the small amount of low-ish quality gold I have leftover from the previous ring I made him, and the end-product would have consisted of no more than 1/8 or so gold anyway. Don't know if it'd even be that yellowish, and it probably would have had imperfections due to the different heating temperatures of the mix of metals, I reckon.
