Decided to walk the causeway to Clearwater beach for our exercise of the day. We tend to walk the beach out there a few times a week so thought it might be fun...Tour boats and recreational boats are just heading out ...At noon when we head back to Dunedin the entire mile and a half of the causeway is backed up with people driving over to the beach...and trying to find parking...Sunday ...

Our destination Monday was to travel into Tampa Bay for an evening hockey game. Left our apt. By 2pm and found ourselves in the heart of downtown very quickly so made a quick decision to hike over to the TB History center . It was wonderfully informative on the history and settling of the city and the surrounding area. The Indians were here when the first invasions from the Spanish occurred in the 1500 s and still much later ...

... we spent about an hour on the beach. It was packed. We assume with kids on spring break. So now we have dipped our toes in the Atlantic on the east coast of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico on the west side.

Our drive back to Orlando was supposed to take 1 hour 45 min again but the traffic was againg solid all the way past Tampa city and it took us 2 & 3/4 hours.

Cooked dinner at our hotel tonight. Roast chicken and veggies. Nice.

... to the beach to listen to the drums, rest and eat, and then watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. Another great day. On Thursday night we all went sailing in a 42ft boat in the bay of Tampa. The man who owns the boat (Dave) let's people learn how to sail. There is a couple of them from the hostel who go every week. Guests make up the rest of the numbers and on that particular night there were 15 people in total. Despite the heaviness of the boat we came in second. It ...

      Farewell to the Islands

... wee bit more rum, use some of the space for bulk and get it to Tampa where we'd be reunited with our cooler *and* be able to check the box for free with Southwest...mischief managed! We had a nice breakfast on the terrace at the resort - comfortable tropical breeze and the sound of the surf in our ears. This is a very peaceful place, but I think we'd go buggy if staying here much longer than 4 or 5 days. It feels right that the trip is ...
