... there well before check-in, so I decided to stop in Independence, Missouri. This city is well known for several things, but I was most familiar with it from playing the Oregon Trail computer game in elementary school way back in the day. Independence was the town that the US Congress defined as the start of the Oregon Trail. The City saw prosperity in the mid-1800's as businesses sprang up to outfit westbound travelers.
