... is being knocked down in 2 weeks so we had to make sure we did it! Did a few smaller coasters that were stupidly fast and the turns were incredible, no idea how they fit such long tracks in such small spaces! Dad wanted to wait for their latest ride X2 but the queue was 90mins and it was 11.30am the hottest time of the day and it was around 85 degrees I think!! I refused and we moved on to a wet ride to cool off!! Headed to Tidal Wave to cool off but ...

... excitement however as who do you imagine we might see at LAX airport? None other than Peter Crouch and Abi Clancy casually strolling through the airport! Celeb spotting - tick! Let the 11 hour flight commence... After what can only be described as the longest, most turbulent flight ever we were almost happy to be greeted by the familiar grey skies and drizzle as we arrived at Heathrow. We rushed through the airport procedures in a flurry of anticipation. Reunions with our ...

Arriving in Santa Monica, the bags got dropped in the hotel and we were swiftly on our way to Hollywood. Well, swiftly out of our hotel anyway. We came straight into LA traffic and must have crawled along for ...

... I couldn't take my eyes from the hands of the guy playing it was like a blur. Seriously talented guy. Obviously not having been to LA before I wanted to go see the Hollywood sign and stars so Madeleine, her sister and dog and I went walking the very popular Runyon canyon where there are great views of the Hollywood sign and that's not all! As soon as we walked in the gate there was a huge black guy stood there with a snake. I'm not talking small house pet or Arabian snake in ...

After leaving hilly San Francisco we headed down the Pacific Coast Highway, this really is one of the most beautiful coastal routes that manages to hug the coast all the way to LA. The land is lush with numerous strawberry farms, hills and palm trees. We drove through some sleepy beach towns like Santa Cruz famed for its surfing and the hometown of O'Neil surfing apparel, Santa Maria - a small ...
