Historical Traveler Reviews Courtyard Sandestin at Grand Boulevard

    Much more than expected...

    from

This hotel has so much to offer it was unbelievable. We chose the hotel based on price and location and WOW were we suprised at how much more there is to offer here. Little did we know that the hotel has access to Sandestin ammenities such as the free shuttle service and the Village of Baytowne Wharf. We had a nice room and loved the staff. I am not sure about the last review but everyone we encountered at the hotel was more than courteous and truly showed "southern hospitality". We will def. be back when in the area.

    Sehr viel mehr als erwartet...

    from

LOved the hotel, not the employees

    from

We loved the hotel, location, and amentities. I was not impressed the the front desk associates. They were not overly friendly and I had to stand and wait over 4 minutes for a associate to speak to me and ask me what I needed. She was busy typing on the computer and the other associate was on the phone for the entire time. Then when he got off the phone he helped someone who walked up after me! She was not very customer friendly, nor was the person who checked us in. In our room we had a light bulb out, but the room was nice and cleand other than that. We did request extra towels, that were never sent either.

Highly recommend - just improve room cleaning

    from

I really enjoyed my 3 night stay at the nicely appointed Courtyard Sandestin. I didn't realize before arriving that along with staying at the Courtyard I would be granted beach access within Sandestin - that was a nice bonus. The hotel was nicely appointed with modern furniture and decor and wifi throughout the building. My only complaint was with housekeeping - they would come by between 8-9 and if you were not out by then your room would not be cleaned until 3pm at the earliest! I thought this was somewhat excessive since the hotel is not very large and you may want to come back from the beach by 1 or 2 and shower off but no fresh towels would be awaiting you - otherwise this hotel is a great value and I will definitely stay there in the future!

    Great, Hotel and Location

    from

What a great place to stay, although it is not on the beach, they offer complimentary shuttle to and from the beach as well as to the many restaurants/village center Sandestin has to offer.

The Shuttle is great of you want to go out at night to Sanderstin "Village of Baytowne Wharf. Inside the Village is a great Breakfast restraunts 'Another Broken Egg Cafe's' open just 7am-2pm.

Overall this is great location within walking distance and Shuttle ride of good food, golf , beach and nightlife.

    Nice hotel and great staff

    from

My wife and I stayed at the Courtyard Sandestin in December 2006. The rooms are new and clean. The staff was very helpful.

We spent more time away from Sandestin that we did on the grounds, but sleeping in a new room was nice.

    We would stay here again.

    Loved the Courtyard

    from

Everything about this hotel was excellent. The hotel staff were very friendly, the rooms were large and very well furnished and organized. The bathroom was large and very well laid out. The bed was so comfortable that I slept late and the pillows were so nice I'm considering calling to see where they purchase them. The breakfast was very affordable and the food was absolutely great. We commented the breakfast was as good as a high end restaurant. Although we didn't get to use the pool or weight room they were both above our expectations. The hotel even has snacks and alcoholic beverages available along with a bar with a large TV (they also had drink specials for each night). I highly recommend this hotel. A bonus was all the amenities available from the resort the hotel is located. We were unable to use them, but will certainly go back and take advantage.

    Super Spot in Sandestin!

    from

This is a lovely new hotel in the Destin area. The very large lobby area is decorated in a contemporary, beachy theme. I felt as if I were in a nice European hotel. There are several seating areas, a fireplace, free computer with internet, free coffee bar, a bar area with large plasma tv, and a large restaurant. Also, there is a 24-hour snack shop & a fitness room adjacent to the lobby. Just outside is the very attractively landscaped medium-size pool, hot tub, and baby pool.

Our room was on the 5th floor and had a view of the parking lot. The other side of the hotel has a view of the pool and golf course. Even though the hotel is just off Highway 98, there was no traffic noise. We had two very comfy queen beds with fresh white linens and polyfill duvets. The room is painted in beachy tones of turquoise, medium blue, sea green, and gold. The bathroom, with granite countertops, is a little nicer than average.

Breakfast is available in the lobby restaurant for $10.95 (children under 11 are free, I think.) We did not try it, opting instead for the delicious Donut Hole down the street. Our favorite activity was riding bikes on the extensive bike trail system, located just across the parking lot in Sandestin. Also, you can take the free shuttle to the beach, Baytowne Wharf restaurants, or Sandestin Market shops.

The Courtyard is the perfect choice in Destin, if you don't mind jumping on the shuttle or in your car to go to the beach!

    We will be back!!!

    from

Where do I begin?!?! From the time you check in til the time you check out you feel so welcomed. The staff does an excellent job of making you feel at home. Once you get out of your car you never have to get into it again. The property offers free transportation to the beach and to the Village of Baytowne Wharf. I cant say enough good things about this property!!!!

    Loved It!!!!

What a great place to stay, although it is not on the beach, they offer complimentary shuttle to and from the beach as well as to the many restaurants Sandestin has to offer. Overall this is quite possibly one of the best Courtyards I have ever been to. Keep up the good work.

    Disappointing Destin

So we arrived at this very nice house and we were greeted by a strange guy who immediately asked us to take our shoes off at the door. He showed us the kitchen and explained do not take food or drink upstairs so we were like ok. He said if we go to the beach we need to wash our feet on arrival and use the towel he has left outside. So after our marching orders we proceeded to bed. The next day we woke up ...

The day started at breakfast. Rice Krispies believe it or not, nice English cereal! Had to be on the bus to leave New Orleans for 7.45am. Had to wait an hour on the bus as one girl had a few drinks the night before bless her and forgot her alarm but we found her in the end and got going. We then set off for Panama beach! Couple of hours later we stopped have way in Alabama!! Sweet ...

... everyone else went for shrimp of some kind, while I took ribs (when in the states, you gotta right?). They were melt in the mouth, sweet and sticky, everything ribs should be. But the cocktails were the coolest, big personal pitchers called 'tubes' of frozen easy to drink but potent goodness! All in all Leah seemed to have a good birthday! On our final day I got up early to go fishing with Tim. I'd never been fishing before (I know, criminal for ...

... disappointed they can't join us, and Maxwell and Esme are disappointed Tommy won't be offering wake boarding lessons...I think I am better off for not being tempted to learn how to wakeboard from a 14-year old with no fear and better healing capabilities.

We find a nice sandy beach to sit on, catch up, and grill lunch. Afterward, we take the kids tubing and Pat introduces them to a tubing maneuver he and Tommy call ...
