... me where I come from and where I was going. I explained that I flew into LAX and was heading to Lake Tahoe....but he picked up that the rental car had Nevada plates and was a bit suspicious. I offered to show him the paperwork for the rental, but he was more interested to see my passport (probably to make sure I was leaving).
I said to him "It's in the boot, I'll just get it out"......He seemed a bit stunned until it clicked to me and had to again say "Hey ...
A lovely day -- with an easy drive out to Sacramento, a good day visiting Sac State (which is a very pretty campus, especially this time of year, with the leaves changing), then an easy drive home. Definitely a long day, and I was exhausted by the end of it, but not a bad one at all.
We were sad the group had disbanded this morning, but at least it ended in without hurt feelings,. We have no clue what comes next, but we need to clear our heads first. we spend the night at a nice little motel. and finally give Betsy a well earned wash, the ...
Auburn, California, United States h2andblues... given to me I didn't find it. Jess was actually better at it than me, but that will change, I'm going to become a pro. Thanks Steve....
We were kind of spoiled for our last days on the road, we weren't to used to the luxury of "mom's" cooking, and never ending supply of beer. It helped our motivation to start heading home, a little taste of normalcy.
Till home,
Nic and Jess
... labor clearing fallen trees and brush; learning the proper way to burn the cuttings. We has a fire from 9am - 8pm...the beer at the end of the day was well deserved. More then anything connecting with Ken and Terry was the most enjoyable...thanks.
... game and part of the second before chilling winds and spurting snow drove me to head for Sacramento and the comfort of home. Charlie seriously sniffed everything in the yard - firstly the big tree by the road where the most "notes" would have been left. It was when he saw Casey and Annie and later Sandy and Emily that he became a crazed dog jumping, barking, running in circles - so happy ...
Sacramento, California, United States journal70... Jim and Shannon were waiting. Hugs all around, as we haven't seen Jim in several years and our first time meeting Shannon. They live in Helena, Montana. We are trying to adjust to the altitude. When we arrived we lay on our beds gasping for air like tabled goldfish and today I woke up with a murderous headache. The coca leaves that we chew on during the day seems to help. The local people are docile and sweet-natured. They move slowly, if at all; most ...
Sacramento, California, United States harvarooBarely made the plane because we'd been up late the night before trying to find a way for Michael to get ON said plane since he discovered his driver's license had expired. Oops. But we did make it, as the last 2 to board and late enough I thought they would push us to the next flight out. Stayed on the same plane (left at 9am) but we had 2 stops before our destination, Albuquerque then San Diego. Arrived about on time in ...

Sacramento, California, United States saraishness... pin is. Well, surprise surprise, the first pin is here in our heart's current favorite location, Northern California. We haven't left yet, but this is where the journey will start. It will be sad to leave SF, the tree lined streets of Sac, our adorable little house, and to leave behind Lake Tahoe and the amazing Sierras that we've ...
