Well, all the lazing reading and listening to the critters means we had some chores to get done, so today, that is what we did. House cleaning.
As a reward we got to watch the fire flies again tonight AND we got woken up at 2:30 in the morning by a HUGE thunder and lightening storm! Loved it!
Okay, I have dried dozens of times to attach a video of the fireflies, but it just won't work. If it ever does, I will let you know. Sorry.
We took a drive into Rockford today. May I say...BOO! There was one small stretch of land that had some beautiful houses on a lake, but other than that...everything we saw was broken down, run down, empty and trashed. The "highway" runs right through town but we just couldn't get out of there quite fast enough.
We came back to camp and Mike decided to detail the Jeep a bit. I, on the other hand, just enjoyed the view. I think you can understand why ;-)
It's funny how this came about. 2 girlfriends planned on getting fun tattoos on their ankles. They said "why don’t you get one Alena…maybe in honor of your mom". At 35 years old I thought I had reached a point of NEVER EVER getting one. Not to mention THE PAIN! Ideas were thrown around and then this idea came to me…the red balloon symbolizes her free spirited hippie nature, selling balloons cross country in the 1960's, AND ...
... started to help the process in changing her time zones.
She took to her new brothers and vice versa even better than we had even hoped or prayed for. She comes up to about their knees and, while they were both home from holiday break, kept them laughing with her antics.
We realized soon after arriving home that she is lactose intolerant (apparently, about 90 percent of all Asian children ...
