... being on the canal. There are canalfront houses, condos, docks with Adirondack chairs set up on them. There was a marine and kayak rental operation, a big park with lots of people feeding ducks, biking and walking their dogs. I saw more people here than I usually see or have ever seen on any other section of the canalway trail I think. Farther on, the Fairport crew were rowing on the canal. I rode a bit farther ...

... take this very seriously, at least at many of the places we ate, because the food was so fresh. I've learned that ingredients make all the difference in a great meal and a mediocre one. This makes me even more excited about the CSA we joined for the summer - we'll be forced to cook with the produce that is seasonal, and use fresh, local vegetables in our meals.
I'd like to try to bring the essence of this back home. Cook simple meals, with fresh ...

    I love technology.

Seriously, while planning for this trip, I've become so grateful for technology. From using Google Drive to edit documents and make them available offline to downloading apps that allow me to "star" main attractions and restaurants in cities, I am in awe of how much is available.

I've downloaded all of the TripAdvisor offline itineraries for Rome/Florence/Venice. I've downloaded CityMaps2Go ...
