... talking. It was so awesome for me to see, what I believe is, true community taking place all around us everywhere we go. In Alba we saw signs of obituaries hung up in these public squares. We saw people running into each other in the squares and just stopping and talking all around us. Everywhere we looked there were cafes filled with locals just sitting and drinking coffee/eating biscotti and watching what was happening in the square. This was one of the most ...
... that would have happened in the good 'ol US of A.
Big bathrooms. Even the most "luxurious" place we stayed (in Alba) had a relatively small shower. I can't wait to shave my legs in comfort again.
Free bathrooms. I should have had a line item in the budget for paying for bathrooms in Italy. Some places charged as much as 1.50 Euro just to use the restroom (I'm looking at you, Venice). Alba and the surrounding area was the ONLY area where there was ...

I can always buy while I'm there.
Bob keeps reminding me that we're not leaving civilization. Anything I didn't pack that I end up really needing? I can buy.
T-Minus 1 day and 12 hours! :)
We've never taken such a complex trip but I think we have everything ready: luggage, tickets, just the right amount of planning, and of course flat Nicole and flat Ceanna.
The poor kitties know something is up but they will have wonderful company while we are away.
Follow us along. Hopefully we'll get to update this blog regularly.
Bye for now!
