... was right on the water but also had a lovely grassy backyard. We were joined by Sarah, Evan, Rebecca and Graham so had a house full of kids, lots of croquet, knitting, campfires and special places ( Treasure Island). On Saturday Sandra, Keith, Kate, Holly and Bear joined us for a rollicking BBQ and day of fun. On Sunday we headed back for one more night at Jimmy and Helen's where Daryl and Heather ...

Took the Winnebago for a trial run to Sunset Lakes in Hillsdale, IL for three nights. Pretty easy drive out, great site for the RV. Met some wonderful people from Montgomery, AL, Joe and Lois. - reminded us of the folks we bought the Motorhome ...

Now we are in the Davenport area at our last Marriott. It might be the last one not to be remodeled but still home away from home. We didn't even bring our backpacks in because its 1000 PM and we are done dragging them in and out. We hit the road for home tomorrow. Since we dropped a day in Rapid City and ...

... to a Hy-Vee to restock. What a weird name for a grocery store. I guess it's not as bad as the Texas chain HEB, which stands for Harry E Butts. Two guys wanted to give me advice on changing my route. This doesn't instill confidence in the next 50+ miles I need to do today. I decided to stay on route. The route cuts through farms and the next 150 miles looks like limited camp options. I had a bad headwind as soon as I went east over the Mississippi River. That's the third ...
