... and George Davenport and Antonie LeClaire were stationed there. Davenport was established in 1836 by Antoine LeClaire and named after his good friend Colonel George Davenport. The first settlers of Davenport were mostly Germans. After a county seat dilemma with neighboring town Rockingham in 1840, Davenport was established as the county seat of Scott ...

Today was a long day of travel through Nebraska and Iowa and almost into Illinois.

En route we stopped off briefly in Omaha, just to have a look at Warren Buffet's house. This house, a nice looking place (something that you might find on any Rosedale street), has become rather famous, simply for the reason that Buffet bought the place in 1958 for $31,500, and although he has since become a multi-billionaire, he never ...

We couldn’t have asked for a prettier spot to put on a couple of shows either: ...

We done a lot since the last time I posted..... Went from Wpg to Beausejour to visit with Jimmy and Helen. Caught up on the news, breakfasted at the Golf Course, went swimming in the great outdoor public pool, and most of all enjoyed good friends. Then we were off to Hillside Beach to join Leah, Jared, Lilly and Ethan at the marvelous cottage they rented. It had the most beautiful porch and a fabulous ...

Took the Winnebago for a trial run to Sunset Lakes in Hillsdale, IL for three nights. Pretty easy drive out, great site for the RV. Disappointed that the pool was closed but the weather was perfect. Took a canoe ride, rode bikes, adapting to our new home on wheels. Met some wonderful people from Montgomery, AL, Joe and Lois. - reminded us of the folks we bought the Motorhome ...
