Port Jefferson is named after our third president. It's a deep water port that has ferry service to Connecticut. While there, we found a winery shop offering tastings from the Pindara and Duck Walk wineries and a small brewery, Port Jeff Brewery, doing the same. Of course, we're bringing some back with us. Yeehaw! It is a quaint little port town with interesting shops and restaurants. We finished our visit with some coffee, tea and pastries at La Bonne Boulangerie. ...
... for about 1.5 hours to let a bunch of people off and then load a new crew and many more passengers. This time first and business class filled up as the Vancouver-Hong Kong route is very popular. We stayed in our same seats so we just hung around our mini suites, stretched, and watched the commotion of the cleaning crew on board prepping the plane for the long haul.

... because the beach umbrella was proving tricky. We joined them for lunch (lovely lobster rolls) and then a bit of a play in the sea. Sea was bracing but that was welcome given the heat on land and the hot sand. Westport looks on to Long Island, which is a few miles away across the flat sea. It's very des res, the seafront houses being multimillions, but we think Chris and Sarah have done far better in Weston. Oliver put the boys (and R) to shame with his frisbee throwing! Back to ...
