... The main exhibition museum is split into 3 different sections- before 9/11, during 9/11 and after 9/11. To see all the artefacts and read all the stories was such a moving experience. I think anyone who goes to NYC from now on should definitely pay the money for this museum. You get lost listening to all the events as they were played out right in front of you. Most of the museum has a ban on photography but some parts are ok so you can see some of ...

Well we were all so excited and the food tasted so good I don't think any of us spoke to each other. Chris said his was amazing and he obviously left his steak until last and said it was tender and wonderful, Rich had this sauce with his chicken that was ...

... doing theatre cheap in NYC.

We had a few hours between getting the tickets and the show. So we had second breakfast at Juniors. We each ordered a slice of cheesecake, but I also had some corned beef hash (I love this stuff). Then we took another walk in Central Park, this time around the southern side. It truly is a beautiful inner city park. I would never have thought ...

Amazing location, stylish (but small) room

    from

Advertised as 'Steps off Fifth Avenue' and it really was. Nice lobby and helpful staff. Rooms were lovely with great decor and big tv with lots of channels. Not a good view as it is sandwiched between two buildings, so doesnt really matter which floor you stay on. Bathroom is of a really nice size and had a good quality power shower. Also great range of toiletries, not just the usual drab stuff. The double beds were a bit small though and with four in the room plus a lot of furniture it was hard to move around. Fridge and safe were a nice touch and there was a good desk and easychair too. Best things about the hotel are look and location. So much to see within walking distance and plenty of shops, restaurants too. If you're not going to spend too much time inside, then this is great value.

    Perfect location, lovely hotel

    from

Having been to NY 3 times before, and reading the reviews on this website regarding the Clarion, I have to say that I was very apprehensive about staying in this hotel!

    Would Stay here Again!

    from

We stayed here this past weekend and were pleased with our room and service. The rooms were small and we did have a problem with the air conditioning but this was corrected the next day. The staff were very friendly and helpful to us...even helping us with a cab as we were leaving in the rain. A great location!! I recommend this hotel!

    A great hotel

    from

I recently spent 3 nights in the Clarion Fifth Avenue and found it to be a great hotel. The best thing about it is the location, it is within walking distance of all the major attractions. The staff were very helpful, I could not fault them. The room may have been on the small side but in a city like NYC, we didn't spend much time in the room. If it's a nice clean hotel you want in the best location on offer, the Clarion is the best choice. If I get another opportunity to do my Christmas shopping in NYC, I will definitely stay in the Clarion Fifth Avenue again.

    Good

    from

It is in a great location! The staff were not nice except for one of them working in the evening. The other staff on the front desk acted like they could not be bothered.

The room was clean but warm. I was told that the air conditioner shuts down when the heater system in the building is turned on. It was a warm weekend in the city and we could not cool the room down. The worse thing is heat was coming out of the unit even though the unit was turned off.

I was told to open the windows by a snobby lady on the desk. The problem was every time a car drive by the street, it runs over the lid of the manhole. Cars were driving by all night!

The air conditioning problem made me miserable and it will you! Not worth the money I paid.

    A Great Choice

    from

Very nice hotel. Clean and quiet and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. A convenient location, close to Grand Central Station. We would very happily stay here again.

    Convenient & Comfy

    from

Stayed here for 2 nites this past weekend and was pleased overall -- very good experience. Hotel lobby is tiny, but modern, very well-kept. Booked room via Clarion website -- Queen bed + sofabed for $184 per nite -- 3 adults sharing 1 room was cramped but just enough room for changing and sleeping. Bathroom is very spacious. Overall, a well-maintained, very clean, safe property. Has a cozy, modern feel. Cannot beat the covenience -- 1 door off of 5th Avenue and less than 100 yards from Madison Ave. Centrally located to 42nd St, Grand Central Station, Fifth Ave shopping, 34th St shopping, Bryant Park. Staff friendliness was spotty; a couple front desk staff were cheerful, helpful; others were dour and indifferent. I would stay here again at the right price mainly for the great location and value for midtown location. For Manhattan, tiny rooms are the norm if you want to stay under $200 per nite room rate and still have clean, modern room in central location.

    Great place to stay!

    from

Stayed for five days in August and couldnt have been happier. Requested a top floor and was given the 29th floor with a great view. staff at check in was very friendly. room was small, but isn't that what is expected in new york? best thing of all: location location location! in the middle of the best shopping, down the street from the empire state building and a 2 avenue blocks from times square. Would stay here again.

    You Can Do Better

    from

This was an "okay" hotel. But you can do better for less money. I have paid less and got a larger room with a fridge and a microwave at The Belvedere. I have also paid less at the Super8, and had a nicer experience. Also, during my stay a maid caused a small fire (I never did hear what exactly she did) but the fire alarm does work :) One other complaint I had is that the doorman had no interest whatsoever in getting a taxi for me - he told me to walk to the corner of 5th Avenue myself!

    Nice little cozy place

    from

Clarion fifth Ave Hotel is just right off fifth AVE, and can't be any more convinience for a shopper like me. It's also couple blocks away from Grand Central, and takes me no more than 10 mins to get on the train. Although the room is small, the lobby is small, the customer sevice isn't quite nice (normal in NYC), however, it's good enough for only $100 per night.
