... we thought we might try for nightjars. So we headed for the loneliest roads that paralleled the border. After inadvertently almost crossing the border into Mexico, we found a very quiet road and within 5 minutes had two COMMON PAURAQUE and a COMMON NIGHTHAWK. The PAURAQUE we calling, which was cool. The last two weeks of our stay in the Rio Grande Valley are a blur. They went so fast, and although not trying to do so were filled with activity with one day flowing into the next and one thing leading to another and then we had to go.
