One more travel day to get us to Washington State. Gabi slept through the entire state of Oregon! For the most part the scenery was not what I envisioned for the Pacific Northwest. Had you shown me a picture of most of the drive until about the last 100 miles, I might have guessed I was looking at New Mexico. We only saw the tall evergreens I think of as Oregon for a short spell in that state. Once we got close to Seattle though, the beautiful tall trees and picturesque lakes and mountains we...
Lynnwood, Washington, United States lgthibWe ended up staying just north of the city of Seattle in a suburb called Lynnwood. It worked out very well for us, as we could not find acceptable lodging in the city on the weekend, unless we were prepared to pay a King's ransom for the accommodation. The "Courtyard by Marriot" was ideal for us: a nice comfortable room, breakfast provided and walking distance to the local Starbucks and a giant local mall. We slept in, did the laundry, checked out the mall, had some lunch and even (heaven for...

... would walk towards that and if we can't find Comp USA then this will do. It seemed so close but it ended up being soooooooo far away, was exhausted by the time we got there but I guess we saw alot of Bellevue by foot! I googled Comp USA in the store while Jason was looking at stuff and it was in the direction we were heading before we asked for directions, lol. Oh well.. Outside of the store we were walking along the path and Jason is like 'Look, a ...
Seattle, Washington, United States allsey... used to the idea and excited about the rides. At only 35inches tall I don't think she will make it to the 40 inches required for some rides. Jason and I will take advantage of child swap for those we want to ride. Airline: We are using miles and previously purchased tickets to fly Alaska Airlines. With the miles and previously purchased tickets (from trip we canceled ...
Lynnwood, Washington, United States mrsmoore... wasn't quite as funny and interesting as the Underground tour, we still enjoyed it - and we actually got a smidgen of sunburn from sitting on the top deck of the boat. In between these activities, we hit the Seattle public library (here's a newspaper article about the building), which is an amazing structure and facility, although I have to admit that some of the views from one level to the next gave me a bit of vertigo. But then, I'd already ...

Seattle, Washington, United States kaushansky... even Rich was wearing gloves - Bonnie was wearing everything possible, the usual 2 pr of gloves etc etc.Bonnies past sprained ankle and Richs ski-ing knee injury were giving us jip but we rejoiced as we got below the cloudline and came accross walkers in shorts & tee shirts - we must have looked really strange but we were at last getting warm. In the cafe we drank hot tea, got changed & moved on. On the way out of the Park, we stopped for a photo at Christine Falls ...
Seattle, Washington, United States richandbonnie... to a place for smoked salmon chowder (YUM!) and we drove all around making our own photo ops (CRANES!!!). But, without much sleep, I lagged pretty quickly. The rest is foggy now, but I know we made it home, she tucked me in, and then I decided there was no way I was bringing all these clothes and utilities to Japan. I spent another few hours deciding what to keep and what could stay with her for a month. And then sleep.
Seattle, Washington, United States synchoidHello there my friends...yes, I am back safely Stateside. For our last morning in London we packed up and left our B&B on Hugh Street and went to the Starbucks in Victoria Station for a quick coffee and bite to eat before setting out on the Underground to go to Heathrow. The station was busy with commuters using public transport to go to work...I'll miss the train stations. One last tube ride...I'll miss the sound of the announcer saying "mind the gap" as ...
