We have been in Marlboro Yacht Club for four nights now, our motor would not start Friday morning for our mad rush to New York City. We tried bleeding it and a few other things, but our batteries were wearing down. Even with the fridge off our time was limited- we needed to plug in to keep working on the engine. When the tide slacked, and since there was no wind at all, we decided to try to haul up the anchor. It came up- so Marty jumped off and into ...

... had nothing to do really, I walked in the garden, saw the raspberry bushes, a lovely tree house, a little pond with fish, the lawn where the dogs love to play around... A little paradise!

I so much enjoyed to be part of a family, everybody around the breakfast table in the morning, the funny Corki dogs, the cat that comes to sleep on my bed, and seeing my old friend Phil after so many years.

Tomorrow I take my Amtrak train to Montreal, next visit!

We made good use of our stay here fro stocking up a bit. We also had wonderful "pinwheels" at Miguelo's Cafe in town.. .great food! Before leaving Catskill we traded in our outboard for a 4 stroke Evinrude. Starts right away, is far ...

... sent. And so we hailed them on channel 16 as we approached this morning but they were busy with a mast. There were other places we could go down the creek but we yelled at the first person we saw on shore as we passed by and it was the owner- he stopped what he was doing and told us what slip to go to and came to help us dock. At that point he had no idea who we were and that we had contacted him previously- he was just being helpful period. We have had ...

... appealing to do it with a lot of people around. So at the suggestion of our host, David, at 26 Warren B&B, we opted to start the day visiting High Falls Conservation Area in Philmont– it’s an off-the-radar hiking area with a beautiful waterfall. This area could certainly be the subject in a painting by an artist of the Hudson Valley School of Painting. Going there, standing before this ...
