... and headed out to get a cab. A nice man stopped us and asked if we needed a taxi. I said yes and so we followed him around the corner to his "cab". I was a little apprehensive but, he showed us his License so we went with him. His car was an SUV and so we had a little more room. The ride into the City was an experience. There was only one time I regretted getting in an unmarked cab. That was when we started driving down a ...
New York City, New York, United States ricflack... latter part of the morning, as soft flurries of snow tickled our noses. Being that Priscilla hadn't come in till four and got up at 9 we were brothers in arms in being completely knackered! With it being Priscilla's last day in NYC there was more catching up with her friends, and a quick visit to see the inside of the New York City Public Library. Having already seen the outside I had great expectations for the interior, and it didn't ...
New York City, New York, United States akeakekiakaha... I told her about the trip, and that I was basically on my way home now. She told me that she had come up from Vellore, a little city in Tamil Nadu, which is the province south east of Banglore, in order to help scatter her niece's ashes in the Ganges. She explained that her 17 year old niece had been electrocuted in a bathtub, and that she had traveled to help her brother with the ceremony. Although this story was tragic, she gave off the feeling ...

It was not an easy process as normally they just rebook the passenger under their correct name; however, the plane was full and the computer would not allow the agent to book the students. Needless to say, the travel agent was contacted. Upon gate arrival we noticed that there was only one place to grab dinner so we all ate at the Pannini ...
Jamaica, New York, United States debbie.loop... watched the ice skaters at Rockefeller Center, bought some popcorn, stopped in Bryant Park. After leaving Matt & family at Penn Station, we headed back to the apartment. By this time, my knee was killing me. I have a feeling the slippery rock in Central Park had something to do with it! Darin wanted to go to one of Mario Batali's restaurants and the one he decided on was called Otto Enoteca on 5th ...
New York City, New York, United States jennie... New Jersey before heading into the hear of New York for the rest of the weekend. However, I was flying with Air tran once again! This time I don't exactly miss my flight, but the connecting flight from Atlanta to New Jersey gets delayed for almost 6 hours. I try my best to get myself onto another flight to JFK or Laguardia. So this way I can still see my brother for a couple of hours. But instead they tell me that because the luggages have been put on the rail ...
New York City, New York, United States s_sarkardei... into some twisted horror movie, walking through these rusting, creaking and run down amusement rides all shrouded in fog. However, it did clear up (and then thunderstorm all within the space of 30 minutes!) and after having a good look around (unfortunately 'Shoot the Freak' was closed...) and taking some photos for posterity we decided that we should try and race (As much a you can while sitting on the subway) back to Manhattan to try and catch ...

Jamaica, New York, United States lokacharaka... the offers. Pools: Very small and contained more chlorine than water. On the other hand plenty of sun chairs available, unusual considering the amount of people. Service: As friendly and attentive as it gets. Shops: They had very good prices, better than in many islands. Arcades: Disappointingly vs. Norwegian's you had to pay for them. Our stateroom was an exterior one on deck 2. Nice despite some wear and tear and very quiet.
New York City, New York, United States smachim... he planned on going in to work late on Tuesday since NBC is only four blocks from the hotel. Alison came over at 12:00 and we all hung out and got ready. I got dressed and dressed Ali in her little red sundress, and we all watched TV and got everything ready. My Aunt Stacy got home from work at 3:30 and came right over. Her, my uncle, and Alison live only four blocks away so she walked right over. At 4:10 we were all ...
