        ... There is a helmet there that he purchased cheaply in Rome in an antique market, thinking he had found a valuable ancient Roman helmet. He later found out that it was a secondhand fireman's hat. Forevermore he called this his humility helmet.         I went west past Mad River Glen over the mountain, down 116 and east on 24 past the Middlebury Ski bowl. Lots of Road work made for a less than perfect ride but I enjoyed it.
