What will stick in my memory from my stay in the Everglades will undoubtably be the wildlife and the hostel staff, indeed I cancelled my South Beach booking in Miami because something kept me warm and safe in the Everglades Hostel. On one of my days I went to John Pennekamp State Park which was suppose to be a half hour bus ride but turned out to include an hour walk up a state highway because the bus driver dropped me off 3 miles short of my stop! Eventually I arrived and ...
... peaceful memorial once was a disaster zone. I really liked the area, in particular the pear tree that still stands there, surviving all the chaos. After that, we headed down Wall Street and saw the NY stock exchange. It was pretty quiet around there that day, with obviously nothing going on. We then continued (despite the miserable weather) down towards Southport and Brad showed me the pier and the huge ships docked there. The most fascinating part was when Brad explained how this ...

Embarkation day went really well, considering the sheer numbers of people trying to get off/on the ship!
We left the hotel early, drove 2 miles to the Park N Go, and dropped off our car. They ...
... The hostel has an awesome location (corner of Washington and 9th) so we all walked down the road to the club (all 40+ people)! A few of us nipped into an Irish pub on the way for a quick drink before we were hit with Miami high night club prices!! The club was awesome, with two main rooms and an upstairs, we met so many people and had a great night - we knew most people were staying for the whole weekend too so it was a great way to meet people!
