Back on the road today! We were set to do 60 miles which is now starting to feel like a normal day. My legs aren't half a sore as I thought and my bum has definitely broken into the saddle some more! The road was generally flat as it snaked beside Lake Erie, with some really nice views along the way. We stopped off around 20 miles in for some really good food at a place called Boomerang before setting off again to do the last 40 miles in one. ...
... had rocks (at the port side and where the tall ships are) while the end and other side have huge sandy beaches. There are monuments dating back to the Battle of Lake Erie from 1813, and light houses dot the shore. There is even a huge theme park with enormous rides right at the very beginning of the state park. Once again my jaw was on the ground and my camera was smoking for taking so many photos.
Love, Love, LOVED this place. ...
... who were happy we had come back. One family was so annoyed by the protesters that, after enjoying the first show, they came back to COUNTER-protest the protesters with some homemade signs. Love the support! :)
We're getting closer to the Cleveland area with each jump...John was born and raised there and I lived there for a decade. We have family and friends who are coming out to various shows in the area over the next week. Can't wait to see you guys!
My memories of being here last year involve us being driven around by a new-to-the-force policeman in his brand new patrol car. We figured it wouldn't be a good photo-op for a circus clown to emerge from the backseat of the patrol car, so I was the lucky one who got to sit back there. We entertained at the local senior center and visited some stores before heading onto the next town.
I remembered the park where our show is being held as soon as we pulled in. We had ...
... to meet him but his name (or rather, nickname) would appear in Steve's blog from time to time so we knew of him. He came over and introduced himself to me during intermission and we talked for awhile. John met up a few minutes later and we had to snap a shot of the two of them together to make Steve & Ryan jealous. ;)
After the show, I walked up the hill to Dairy Queen to get some sweet treats before they closed. ...
