    Iowa is NOT flat.
We left the campsite in the morning to meet John in Stockton, where the farm he is staying this summer is. It was a cool ride along the Mississippi river. Had a flat as we left the campsite, so I bought a new tire later that, Deutsch qualitat! Since we were going to meet John in the evening, we asked him to take our bags in his car. Drove through more corn fields to Algona where there had been a POW camp in WW2. Gemans and a few Italians. A very interesting display. We met there a group of Winnebago owners who tried to kidnap us to spend the night with them at the local showgrounds but alas we had to move on. Nice people from all over USA.

We drove on to the Hobo Museum ib Ritt. now they also have a festival every year and haeve a hobo King and Queen. Now it sounds ...

We departed Wichita this morning continuing north on Interstate 35 towards Kansas City and eventually arrived to Iowa for my first ever visit to the Hawkeye State as it's known. But I soon found that it is really all about the corn here: miles and miles of perfectly laid out cornfields in a beautiful deep green color - very pleasing to see driving down the road at 75 MPH.

We arrived in West Des Moines about 5pm to ...
