Check us out on a glacier! Okay, so it might just be a snow field... either way, it was pretty awesome. We loaded all the kids up and Kim drove us up to this hike. It was a short 3/4 mile to the lake, which was perfect for our crew. With a small amount of whining, we made it that far and played in the water. Then the kids decided we should go check out the snow; nobody whined anymore as they clambered over the rocks and through the creek ...

It is 13 degrees (-3 with the wind) and snowing like crazy. We are on our way to DIA (Denver International Airport) for a flight that leaves we are not quite sure when... Minutes later another message that the newest new time is 12:15. Since our friend, Tom, is driving us to the airport, this has necessitated several phone calls this ...

... We then drove a bit and did another short, flat hike in Coyote Valley, along the Colorado River (Yes, that Colorado River). It started to grow overcast, and the road began to climb steeply. We stopped frequently for views. Once past timberline, the terrain becomes tundra, and we took three different hikes to see views. including two ...

Fun, but challenging hike up to the Twin Sisters in the Rockies. It was about an 8 mile hike total. Some of the trail was super challenging, pretty vertical at times. The Rockies sure lived up to their name today. It was incredibly rocky and tore up the bottoms of my feet and ankles, my knee was not very happy with me either. Well worth it though once we got up to the ...
