... gut! Derek had two bratwurst, Munich and Rattlesnake/Rabbit with spaetzle, Larry had a bratwurst with potato salad and I had a turkey reuben with coleslaw and spaetzle. We got home about 4:00. It was great to be home but the unpacking, pile of mail and newspapers, 21 phone messages and 284 emails kept us busy for a while. It is great to be home!
... on the shuttle bus. Columbus has a big indoor/outdoor shopping complex with a wide variety of stores so we wandered around, bought a few things and had lunch before we drove to Athens. One of the most interesting shops was Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, a chain of stores originating in Columbus that has become famous by offering flavours such as sweetcorn and black raspberry, and goats cheese with sour ...
where we got our seat assignments. Erin sat by herself and Larry, Derek and I were only 3 rows behind her. Our flight was a little delayed on the taxi out as a plane had to be towed off the runway.
The time from DC to Vienna went smoothly with several beverage services, a meal, and an hour and a half before landing breakfast was served. Larry and I got a little sleep but Derek and Erin don't think they got any.
... I love, called "Sweetie-Licious Pies", written by a gal who has a 50's-style pie/lunch diner not far from Grand Rapids; plus a few other small odds and ends.
Then it was on to the local Walmart parking lot, where we've spent many a night en route to our various destinations. The next morning, it was on to Virginia, which begins with my next post.
... to restock the larder, ate lunch and restocked fresh drinking water at a Walmart. All amidst sometimes heavy rain showers happening all over hte midwest.
Later we picked up CharLi, drove 17 miles north to Dublin, Ohio and parked, out on the street by Friendship Village, in a safe place to meet Joan who gave us a tour of the facilities and ate a delicious dinner in the main dining ...
