Year 2, Day 122 - Today we drove over the the FDR Little White House. This is a State Park and well worth the trip. There is a very nice museum and short film to see and then you enter the grounds behind the museum and take a walk past a great fountain and up a hill with the flags of all the states flying with pieces of stone announcing each state with the date of the year it became a state. On our way to the restaurant we passed the Tellus Museum, where we knew a friend from our high school days, Jack van ...

As a painter there are moments I see a the light hitting the landscape in a certain way or when an interesting person or animal is spotted, and I wish I could record those instances, but I know that it will never happen exactly that way again, and I simply have to enjoy it while it is there.

    It is over

A travel blog entry by juliannawells on Jun 11, 2014

Looking back over this trip, I was able to really appreciate the way in which the Japanese live. Every moment is transient, in the same way this trip was. This means that nothing lasts forever, so enjoy the moment you find yourself in. I am still recovering from jet lag, but I know once things are back to normal I will really be able to reflect on this ...
