This is a Must See! Hard to imagine how huge it is with over 1450 rooms and over 1500 staff that they used to have. Also the Gardens are massive.

          Typical rip-off chain hotel

Positives - excellent location for visiting the Palace.
Negatives - Very poor value for money. Like many typical 4 star business hotels you get very little for your money and the hotel want to extract every last euro from you. But I have never stayed in a place that makes you buy milk for your coffee.
We have been travelling Europe for over a month and this hotel is the biggest rip off. Even in guesthouses a third of the cot you will find free wifi, and often a simple breakfast included.
Reccomend staying elsewhere and get a taxi ti the Palace with the money you save.

I think I’ll close out this entry for now and report later on our other experiences. I know that if I make my entries too long, you all will not want to continue reading them. :-)

... end in 'ring', that surrounds historic Vienna. The old town itself is a fascinating blend of medieval and modern, tourist and local. The first place we found ourselves upon reaching Opernring was the State Opera house. There we met a darling young man (with stunning blue eyes I might add, sorry dad) named Maslor, who at first thought we were German, then guessed Swiss, then Swedish, he finally asked us if we spoke English before guessing Scotland, Ireland, and then finally ...

We climbed the steps of the south tower of Stephensdom, the impressive gothic church with an awesome tiled roof, and fabulous views of the city.

So Friday blog :) this one's a bit up and down with some good and some sad. So I last time I wrote I'd just had a fantastic but freezing time in Munich and was booked to travel to Salzburg. Train rides in Europe are uneventful. They are on time and at the moment the trains aren't packed and the scenery, well it's ok - but it's no Swiss alps! I may have spoiled all future train journeys with those rides. I catch a bus to the "hostel" which is part hotel and part ...

... they don’t see each other and start fighting. Then, the machine is turned on and the panels advance, forcing the horse to move with them. Pretty useful stuff! Our last stop was the winter riding ring, the big grandiose once where the performances are held. It was in the midst of being transformed into the site of a charity ball, but impressive nonetheless. It was here that our guide told us that anybody can become a rider, the only caveat being that they have ...
