      Typical rip-off chain hotel

Positives - excellent location for visiting the Palace.
Negatives - Very poor value for money. Like many typical 4 star business hotels you get very little for your money and the hotel want to extract every last euro from you. But I have never stayed in a place that makes you buy milk for your coffee.
We have been travelling Europe for over a month and this hotel is the biggest rip off. Even in guesthouses a third of the cot you will find free wifi, and often a simple breakfast included.
Reccomend staying elsewhere and get a taxi ti the Palace with the money you save.

We arrived in Vienna, Austria, after 16 hours of travel from SLC to Detroit to Amsterdam to Vienna. We took a little (or a lot of;)) nap at the Marriott before
walking to the Schonbrunn Palace (built in the 16th Century). We loved the well-manicured gardens, fountains, and statues! Although the castle was not open at the < …

... Darcy got sunny side up eggs with yummy bacon and a baguette. We were both in food heaven. We walked down the street to the train station. Darcy had been doing some research about placed to go in Vienna and discovered that it had the oldest zoo and apparently it was massive and just generally awesome. So we hopped on the train and made our way to the zoo. We had the best day! It was sooooo much fun. We were more excited than most of the kids of there! Lol. It ...

... trees. It was obvious that the Christmas tree stands were just setting up with their fresh cut trees (i.e. they don't start selling trees 2 months before Chrismas!). The street was filled with the scent of the fresh cut pines and occasionally whiffs of coffee when you walked by one of the 2,700 cafes that make Vienna famous. Over the pedestrian shopping streets were strung large chandeliers sparkling with lights and millions of rows of Christmas lights strung over the shoppers. ...

... sanctuary. This was where the Habsburgs lived not in summer. Franz Josef I had the place built to show what a tough guy he was. In front of the main entrance, two statues of Hercules battle enemies.

Across the street from the Hofburg palace, the Looshaus, built by Adolf Loos in 1909 faces the incredibly fancified Hofburg palace. Franz Josef I was so horrified he covered his windows to avoid the view. The modern design was a scandal!
