    Typical rip-off chain hotel

Positives - excellent location for visiting the Palace.
Negatives - Very poor value for money. Like many typical 4 star business hotels you get very little for your money and the hotel want to extract every last euro from you. But I have never stayed in a place that makes you buy milk for your coffee.
We have been travelling Europe for over a month and this hotel is the biggest rip off. Even in guesthouses a third of the cot you will find free wifi, and often a simple breakfast included.
Reccomend staying elsewhere and get a taxi ti the Palace with the money you save.

We marveled at the magnificence of the castle. However, I was not impressed with the city of Vienna. In all fairness to Vienna, we only saw the streets when walking 2 miles from the train station to the Palace which I'm sure was not the best scenery of Vienna. Most of the other tourist attractions were a good distance from the Palace. Luckily, we had Salzburg next.

... the hub of over 60s tour groups! There are large groups of predominately Americans moving as a grey mass around the city. I think this could be due to the convenient location on the Danube river for the cruises. Our first day in Vienna we wandered down the shopping mall which is closest to our hotel. I haven't seen so many elite designer fashion, jewellery stores so close together! Louis Vutton, Prada, Channel, Tiffany's, Bretling, Burberry and that's just a ...

Seeing as I only had a few days in Vienna, a city that is famous for just about everything (and has actually just been recognized as one of the best cities in Europe, I believe), it's impossible to even scratch the surface of all the cool things out there. However, I decided to treat myself and go on a tour of the Spanish Riding School, home to the famed Lipizzaner stallions. Performances were pricey, but I felt like a tour was manageable, and so I found myself, at ...

Not much to write today. We went to the Schonbrunn palace this morning. A very grey morning. No photography was allowed in the palace which is a pity as it is a compact version of Versailles but much more intimate. Really beautiful inside and used as the summer palace of the Hapsburgs right up to 1918.
