    ... soft, light and deep it was on the runs, as well as trying to ski some untracked powder on the edges of the runs a few times. I did however try something new which was night skiing, there was ************e else on the run and no lift queue so I had a lot of fun.     After filling up on the hostels free breakfast, we set off to Big Cottonwood Canyon. This is in the mountains next to the city. The drive up was very scenic and we pulled over in a parking bay at the start of a trailhead. It was a 6 mile round trip hike to Dog Lake. We began hiking and it immediately began climbing up very steeply, but the terrain was also very icy!

    We were awakened at 4am by the anesthesiologist wanting approval for brother, Tom's, surgery, which was imminent. Yesterday, we gave all approvals to the physician, so thought that we were done with that. We waited for hours to hear about the surgery and finally heard from Tom's case worker that all went well. They put a shunt in his brain to drain the spinal fluid. We spoke to him later in the day and he was ...

    I've been holding off for a while now but today I took an attempt to snowboard. I consider myself an advanced skier and going back to being a beginner again was humbling. The mountain suddenly seemed steeper, faster and scarier.
