Elizabeth and Janet had gone off in search of a hotel. The rooms were booked at many places and were very expensive but we Did finally find 3 affordable rooms. After the tour we moved on to Lafayette where we had dinner at a place called Zea, which served ridiculously big sized portions of very nice food - chicken and ribs, Yum. ... three hour drive into New Orleans so we should be there by noon. Our campsite is very nice. Has water and electrical outlets right next to the picnic table and even has a shower in the bathroom. I'm not complaining though because with the humidity I will take any air conditioning I can ...

      Day 2 - Woodworth, LA

A travel blog entry by the3chickateers on Jun 07, 2013

After a light shower overnight (we stayed dry), today was absolutely perfect. We relaxed all day, doing our own little things. Sherry read her book on a float in the water, Debby laid on her lawn chair in the sun, and I went for a long walk exploring the campground. We had grilled pork chops (not squirrel) for dinner, with wild rice, and French cut green beans with sautéed onions and mushrooms. The bathhouse showers are nasty here (thank God for shower shoes) and tonight was ...
