... drive through the centre of town. I decided not to purchase the cowboy boots I fell in love with....$6000 is just too far over my boot budget for this year haha! We had lunch at Coopers BBQ - brisket & beans with coleslaw & pickles - delish! We finally got back to the hotel after a 2 hour side trip to Gander ...

Thanks to our friends Diane and Rick Cross, we've had a wonderful few days here at Texas Motor Speedway - the only downers were a couple of very cold nights and the fact that the trailers backed up to us left their huge and noisy generators running all night long, every night! ... a very large honky tonk, here we drank, talked, walked around and had fun, there were a few games of pool going, it was a good night. At 1.15am we went to the shuttle, it was a special booking that we made to take us back to Dallas, it was a bit of a walk back and we lost a few people and had to wait while they caught up. It was the usual drunken ride back to Dallas and we got back to
the hotel at 2.15am, it was essentially off to bed as we had a travel day in the morning.

Not the greatest start to the day as we left the lights on in the car. Two hours waiting on the break down guy and we were finally up and running again. 3 hours down motorways was deff a lot quicker than our rickety roads of Route 66 but I miss Route 66 and can't wait to get back to it n Saturday. However texas is an awesome place and well worth the detour. They really do walk ...
