We quickly bought some American sweets and cherry coke, ran to the smokers' lounge (it weirdly smelt just like an old English pub back in the smoking days...) and made it to boarding just in time (we had a short connection)... And back on the plane for another 6 and a half hours, more movies and more airplane ...
After breakfast with Brie I headed back towards Houston and farther. I made another (less lengthy) detour to see another cousin and her husband. It was a nice chance to visit and stretch my legs for awhile but all it really did was make me want to visit for a much longer time period. So Kyle and Kim Medicis just know you are on my radar for a future trip! Not much to share about the other 9 hours of driving other than the swamps and bayous ...
We got checked in & headed to the cafe upstairs to get a bite to eat. There was a Fauchon shop & I wanted to buy more olive oil for gifts, but since we weren't sure if we would get on the flight, it had to wait, which was torture!
We waddled to our gate & waited for our seats. Jeff returned from the gate with three business class seats & a smile, yeah!! On board champagne, here we come!
