    ... Good start the van actually existed! It was quite big and I got nervous about how we were going to manage it. The woman was friendly and a little scruffy, her place had stuff everywhere. The van would not be ready until the next day. We went into town to get some supplies. She told us the van had everything, but I wanted my own sheets, towels, pillows and cleaning equipment to give it a good scrub. We booked into a nice hotel for our last night of ...

    ... tower, which we ascended, is now separate from the cathedral proper as a hurricane destroyed the nave in the seventeenth century. This was the first time we'd climbed a bell tower with a tour guide (the only way one was allowed to go up), but it was a good experience (I certainly asked the most questions of anyone there).

    For lunch, we stopped at the pancake house Ben remembers from his time living in the city -- the pancakes were definitely good and worth returning for.

    We are allmost ready to to go. The bags are packed and stuffed into the car.
    After going through The Netherlands, we are going to drive through Germany, Austria and Slovenia before we reach Croatia.
    We hope to reach Nurnberg when we stop for the night. Please let the traffic be light :-) No traffic jams...

    This morning we got up extra early to go to the airport. We had packed most of our clothes last night. Even though we had a washer/dryer we still had a decent load of dirty clothes to transport. As it turns out, the combined washer/dryer is great with the concept of space saving, but not so great when it comes to drying clothes. We're not sure if all these types of units are as bad as the one we had, but we ran the dryer numerous cycles and the clothes ...
