Morning walk around the canals, then after breakfast, did a self guided walking tour of the town. We'd already seen some of the sights so filled in the gaps.

No matter where you went, there were sculptures, some serious, some whimsical, some totally abstract. Came across a museum dedicated to Australian indigenous art, featuring the work of the aborigines of the ...

We very much enjoyed her tour and the advice she gave for other places to go. After lunch we set off on our own as Carolien had other commitments. His English was really good! He was a very passionate snake owner, and was so happy to talk to Aussies because many Dutch people think he is crazy to own snakes. He said he wants to migrate to Australia to work with reptiles, but his criminal record is getting in ...

... I assure you they weren't! The day after the visit to Powys Castle in Welshpool, we happened to get a ride on a canal barge in the canal which was so unexpected and unplanned. It was something I had wanted to do so I was thrilled when it happened. Rodger had to open the locks which was a new experience. Another highlight. We continued on skipping through the beautiful countryside of Shropshire on our way south to Cardiff for a few nights. It ...
