... long which went very fast because we played cards most of the way. Amy was disappointed that we didn't see the English Channel before plunging into it. Surprisingly enough there wasn't much to see in the Chunnel. We were in the very last carriage so after our arrival at St Pancras station it was a long walk down the platform to exit.

Finally, after all was out in the open, we got to catch up with friends and visit old haunts. Apart from some new changes around Brixton (some good, some not-so-good), and the unnerving feeling of less democracy than when we left, the most important thing was that our friends & family were the same (except the niece & nephew, who will insist on growing up...) and our relationships with them unchanged.

So thank you ...

... browsing, I had a second thought as even a cushion (which was about the only thing that I could see a price tag on) was 200. We quickly navigated our way through Versace, Gucci and Prada (just to name a few) whilst trying not to look like tourists. I finally made my purchase at the cheaper gift shop section. Oh well a girl can dream!

... skills are non existent! Big Ben and Westminster Abbey were amazing, the detail that went into those buildings is so delicate yet so solid!! We want to go back to Westminster Abbey and do the tour inside as I think that will be even more mind blowing! Buckingham palace was an eye opener as well - those guards! How do they do it!! We will make it back there soon to see the changing ...

May have got over the get lag due to lots of sleep on the plane. Tube to Hyde Park Square to look at the Australian Memorial and then walked in the gardens to Buckingham Palace and down to Trafalgar Square before a walk along the Thames to take in Big Ben & Westminster Abbey before back to have a feed & beer. Legs a tad weary, walked about 15 kms ...
