... fighting the wind as we drove through Nebraska into Iowa and then into Kansas. We stopped in a small town called Leavenworth ((just east of Kansas City) for a long break to give Bob a much needed time out from driving. We continued on into Missouri to Fleming State Park. Surprisingly this campground was almost full.
10/4 The winds had settled down and nothing but blue sky. The drive today was again through rolling wheat fields interspersed ...

... harmonies, we asked local bouncers where to go. We made our way to one of the more buzzing bars on the street, where we chatted to a group of men from Alabama. However, the music in the bar, once it started, was too rocky for us, so we headed straight back to Robert's. After chatting to a young local and his New Orleans girlfriend and being praised for our love of country and desire to seek it out, we bid goodbye to the second great band of the evening and headed back to bed.

... the way we stopped in the Everglades and went on those airboats. It's kind of like a whitewater rafting boat but with a large propeller. The everglades is 1.5million acres of marshy land that is mostly under water and covered with tall grass. It was also full of alligators and birds that our airboat driver named Henry and Henrietta? When we got back to the land, I was first in line to hold a baby 'gattor! He was a slimy sucker.
