Weird rocks

A travel blog entry by josep7778

Wind is blowing and rain pouring when we wake up. The alarm failed again. We check out and leave the hotel for another attempt to see penguins at Otago peninsula. This time we are going to Pilots Beach, at the far north end of the peninsula. The roads to get there as usual, are winding and specially narrow, it must be difficult to build right roads …

Dunedin to Omarama

A travel blog entry by hulleys

... trading town. Now most of the old warehouses have been converted into small boutique businesses to try and revive tourism for the town.

Since we are currently south west, it's a long way to go, so lots of driving for the next few days but with the aim to see as much of the South Island as possible along the way! We leave along Milford road which today looks completely different! ...

But in a devastating demonstration of daring do I decided to doss down by the local lake. The weather was just so scorching, and my hangover just so thudding, I couldn't take another step. I ...
