At 12:30 the day after my stay in Hamburg, I was at the Port Clinton post office picking up my package. I was excited to finally have the boots I had been looking forward to for a week or two. The soles of my feet had been getting sore each day from all the sharp and pointy rocks, so having thick soles on my footwear was going to be awesome. Or so I thought.

... 1 was the Backyard Ale House. Nope, we didn't want to have lunch in what looked for all accounts like a dive bar. Option #2 was a place called Carl Van Luger's. We arrived in downtown Lancaster which is where you find art, museums, restaurants/cafes, theatres and shops. It is a perfect blend of old and new, historic and contemporary, traditional and progressive. It really reminded me a bit of downtown Portland, Me.

As it's so lovely here in the Pocono Mountains we decided to stay an extra day and drive through the Delaware Water Gap National Park. We started at Kittatinny and drove the Old Mine Road, which took us into yet another state, New Jersey.

The Old Mine Road connected Kingston on the Hudson River with the Delaware River and the Pahaquarry Copper Mines which were opened by the Dutch, the first ...
