Three days to go! Hard to believe it. We committed ourselves to this crazy trip over a year ago. (And maybe we should be committed!)

A hundred miles of hiking over 12 days, through three countries - France, Italy, and Switzerland. Some of the most beautiful Alps scenery all along the way.

We're on our own -- no tour guide or group. We'll be backpacking and staying in B&B's some nights. Other nights in remote mountain "refuges" ...

A travel blog entry by miellee on Jul 08, 2014

... connected indoors! Which would be fine, except I'm dressed for winter wear as I am on my way back into that season down in the southern hemisphere. Boots, jeans and a black sweatshirt don't do well in the summer California sun. I was sweating like a pig even before I got outside!

Here's where the 6 hour layover was a blessing: my shuttle driver decided to stop and talk to EVERY bus driver we ended up side by side to. Took me an hour to get ...
