... street poverty at it's worst. How the world of the 'have's & the 'have nots' over lap in such a surreal manner. We were getting a serious culture shock in heart breaking fashion. After our mammoth walk and finally finding our way home we chilled with a hookah and some well earned cold kingfisher beers. With jetlag kicking in it was time for bed wrapping up a memorable day. The plan for the day ahead was to head to the flower market ...

I finished my 15 weeks in India there, and I will admit I exhaled a sigh of relief as my taxi dropped me off at the Calcutta International Airport. I was suddenly surrounded by conditioned air, coffee shops and about to travel 60 hours in time to be on Phoenix for Thanksgiving with my family. It felt almost like cheating...bailing ...

... assisted in lifting it into the van. The Hyatt staff were superb and couldn't have been more helpful. Rajiv kumar who I think was a supervisor (and from lovely ranchi) was particularly helpful and I'm not sure how I would've coped in a cheaper more basic hotel. I eventually left at just after 1.30 and had I been prepared to pay a 100 ukp I would've stayed another night! I was hot and sweaty as I pulled out from the hotel and ...
