Roaming around Rome..... (sorry, couldnt resist)

... painted anything, and he spent 4 years painting the roof... by the end he was semi blind, and had permanently damaged the nerves in his neck. Because he had already been paid by the Vatican as a sculptor, he wasnt given any more money to paint the Sistine Chapel and had to buy the pain himself, so it has been mostly painted using the cheap colours of the time. He had useless assistants as well. He was really set up to fail... but he showed 'em! I ...

The first place we stopped at the lady (Indian) came out and told us no vacancy this place looked a bit dodgy anyway so back down the road we headed. Next place we pull up to has a pile of empty ...

Our first trip with The Camper!

... lots of Rummy (I won). Laila enjoyed the playground. We had a campfire going - even during the day.

My two polar bears swam in the frigid campground pool. I watched from the sunny spot on the deck.

It was heaven. And Chris handled the sewage like a pro.

It was a wonderful weekend and I look forward to all of our new adventures.

... level to stay warm, you are going to beat the luggage to the hotel. I had lunch today soaking wet, but the hot chocolate was the best I have ever had. Now I am in my hotel room with the heat on (drying my shoes that I will need tomorrow), the hot shower was also the best I have ever had. It's nice to be warm!

Whats wrong with a bit of rain in the summer? Both great cities have a
wonderful choice of Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfasts.
We can't choose. If we had our way we would spend a week in both locations, seeing, eating, drinking, relaxing and enjoying.

Brooks BBQ, here we come!

... for the kids to get ice cream. Then we loaded up and headed to Brooks BBQ. Imagine my surprise and total disappointment to find out that they are closed on Mondays!! After that we headed home - my vacation was over.

We arrived home and quickly unloaded and reloaded the camper in preparation of our next trip. Chris quickly made plans to go to his girlfriend ...

As a side note, while admission to the was museum was only $10, after visiting Madame Tussaud's we were disappointed to see a limited number of was figures. And all of the wax figures were behind glass or had barriers set up so that you could have pose with them for pictures. We did enjoy reading the biographies of the players, though.

Doubleday Field .. Woo Hoo!

... of Doubleday field around noon in preparation of today's game. The weather was very fickle - one minute very dark clouds were overhead and we were bracing for the rain; the next minute the sun was out.

I was invited into the dugout for the first few innings to take pictures - what fun! The boys started out slow going into the fourth inning behind 0-1.

My brother ...
