The adventure begins! We closed up the house, packed the computer, loaded the car and headed to Colorado Springs. After running a few errands, we took Skippy to a park so that he could run and play and we could spend some quality time with the little guy. We went to dinner and then ...
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States coloexplorers... my eyes. So off we went. As a blogger, what Steve didn't realize was that visiting a town through my eyes often meant paying heed to the characters of the town as much as the sights. Walking the streets of town, how could we not stop and explore Rocky and WD, two old school merchants that had lived through the evolution of Manitou Springs over the decades. At first glance, one might think they ...

Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States jasonmarshToday Frank stayed home to make us his famous pork chili. Takes hours of love and we were all grateful. Antonio went for another long marathon training run. Chuck, Hector & Diana went foraging for Jack In The Box, an Apple store and a double feature ;) "Couples Retreat" & "Whip It" both good and more importantly cheap. Only $6.50 and you know we did the 2 fer 1 cause we're geto(boys) like that. Made it back to home base in time to see Dollhouse and feast on dinner. Great day for all.
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States fotogeeks... the first turns of the season, skiers and snowboarders will have access to a top-to-bottom run consisting of 1,000 vertical feet via Chair 1. The trails Catwalk, Mambo and Homerun make up this opening day run which is over a mile in length. When this news came in to the Ski Country office ...
Loveland, Colorado, United States colorado_ski... thru Aspen Park, a few more towns that I fell asleep thru, Morrison, and eventually back to Bern's house. The next time I come to Colorado, I will definitely be spending a few nights in the Pike's Peak area, as well as more time downtown.
Tomorrow is Boulder, lots of fun things planned. Saturday, with the exception of the Coors brewery tour, is pretty open. Then Sunday I return home. It will be bittersweet. Goodnight!
With our van loaded, we traveled to Colorado Springs. Right before the border with Colorado we drove through a thunderstorm. It was something I've never experienced before. The kids were asleep, amazing!
We stayed in the building where Ted's work is. It has a little apartment with a little kitchen and bathroom area.
2 days later it was my birthday. We spent the day in an outdoor swimming pool with Amy and Ella. It was a lot ...
... of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Colorado. To the west rise the jumbled results of centuries of volcanic activity - the San Juan Mountain Range. Ragged, tooth-like ridges (dikes) run north-south and sometimes contrarily. One of America's largest calderas opened up between the town of Creede and Wolf Creek Pass. It contains many smaller and later eruption cones and calderas. The huge Rio Grande National Forest offers you 1.8 million acres of ...
Near Alamosa, Colorado, United States ostashare... couldn't pass up the chance to see his father. We weren't super close, but we weren't super far away either. So off we went. After crossing the border, we knew we were pretty north. The air was crisper and the sky was bluer. We truly felt welcome. Once we arrived, we settled down to a nice home cooked meal. We celebrated Kris' birthday and enjoyed sleeping in a real bed again. With much help from the Troegers, we caught up on our ...
Woodland Park, Colorado, United States cmart... last night. It was recommended to us be the waiter of a restaurant we ate in after the long walk yesterday. Can't argue with $1 (50p) a pint. A round of shots and a round of pints was costing us about 6 quid. Mauricio would be in heaven. Travelling with a couple is taking it's toll. More than once I've been left on my own in bars while they're "resolving" their problems. But I tend to meet people when they're not there so I guess there's a plus side to it.
