    ... to get to La Crosse before nghtfall. That said, did manage to use some of the highways in and around Chicago and was able to get a feel for the area. Beautiful, green, lots of water springs to mind. But it is summer and I believe it gets pretty cold in winter.     ... to pull their boats right up to their campsites and tie off. The peninsula itself is about 75 yards wide, and the sites are well spaced. It had rained most of the day before we arrived, so our sites were very wet, but we were able to unhitch and hook into the utilities despite the large puddles.
