One week from today I will walk out of the office, start running around like crazy because I just remembered things I still need to get done and then start packing. Saturday I'll check and recheck my list of things I want to make sure I take....camera, phone charger, tablet, plenty of underwear, sunscreen, sunglasses.....then feel horrible because it will be time to drop Cartman off for boarding. Then it will be early ...

After a short 4 hour drive from Dallas we made it to our campsite in Louisiana. We are pretty central in Louisiana staying in a national park right on a lake. The bathhouse showers are nasty here (thank God for shower shoes) and tonight was ...

I very calmly (so as not to startle her) asked her if she thought it was a good idea to be playing with the money with the windows down. She innocently looked up at me and said, "I'm just looking at all of the presidents faces". That was pretty scary and priceless at the same ...

A Low-key Day

After we had cleaned up the dishes and all, we drove the mile and a half to the entry area and added a third day to our stay. We tried to do it yesterday, but the woman there said that they couldn't do it until the day of the night of the extended stay. Whatever that means... Sounds like a government plan to me. With that done, however we started our hike on the Nature Trail right near the "Smokey Bear" sign ...
