We said to ourselves "lets actually try and save money". We figured if we could save enough to book a flight by christmas, we would be forced to save for the rest of our adventure...and that we did!
You got to love public travel...Shelley and I are on the train now. They're trouble-shooting some engine issue so we are delayed in waiting. That's not the problem. We are sitting across the aisle from a lady who just won't stop talking! The poor man who is trapped between her and the window feels compelled to keep her talking out of politeness. We need to distract her! Oh...! she's doing ...
... Whitby we decided to get off the freeway looking for a smaller road but the alternate roads were through suburban areas. we did see the GM plant though. Back on the highway at Oshawa. Off again at Bowmanville to stop at the information centre where we were able to get a road map of Ontario.
We were given information about highway 7 which is the Trans Canadian Highway and much more picturesque.

... which incidentally had two screaming infants not far from where I was sitting that I swear were calling to each other in some sort of syncopated collaboration), and 7-1/2 hours later emerged into the humid flatland we call home. A further two-hours in the car and a long day of travelling (as well as over two weeks of vacation) finally came to an end.
