YES! Finally heading west on I-24. It took us awhile (on inclines, we were going 50 MPH!), but we made it to Whittington, Illinois, at about 10:45pm. Somehow, in the dark, we found a gorgeous, lake-view campsite at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park.
It feels like months ago that we left our home in Illinois to embark on our 10 000 mile road trip. Well, after 45 days we are safe back home…tired, but enriched. Since my last update in Alaska, we have managed to finish up the bat migration project and drive (almost nonstop) for 6 days to wrap up our adventure.
