Well it's the first day being temporarily unemployed. Feels weird knowing I won't be going back to the hospital to work. Got a lot accomplished. My passport arrived finally. Took a family vacation to Gatlinburg, TN!! Don't have many pics on this computer but it's wonderful there. We stayed in a huge cabin. The scenery is out of this world. Pigeon Forge is great! We went to a local steakhouse, The Peddler, and it was awesome! They have great wine to choose from as well. We went for the 4th of July. It was beyond crowded but everyone had a blast, and we would go back in a heartbeat. ...
SUNDAY 7/20-We left Bowling Green and it was still overcast. We decided it is time to head home and save the east coast for next year. After being in the dry humid less west we are trying to acclimate to all this dampness and rain. This was going to be a longer trip as we are going to loose an hour for the last time when we return to Eastern Time!!

... to do in Pigeon Forge, we should have pancakes for dinner! Unfortunately, we found out that pancake places all closed at 2-3pm. (You would think tourists would want pancakes at 1am after riding on crazy go karts?! Maybe its time for me to go into business...). ... that Alabama, more than the other states we drove through, is a poor state were people drive cars longer and with less maintenance, to the point they simply leave them as a total loss. In any event, the State of Alabama has recognized this phenomenon too, because they put up special road signs requiring you to move over a lane when you see a vehicle parked by the side of the road.
