The visitor center in Canton will tell you that General Sherman stayed in a house here during the Civil War and that is why he spared the Court House.
There really isn't much to do in Canton, but I would come back just to go on the Nissan Plant tour. Tomorrow it is on to Memphis and our visit with Elvis!!
