... the stifling humid heat with rain clouds the locals had happily welcomed to end their drought. Found ourselves in a gourmet burger restaurant recommended to us called Hop-Doddy. The place busy with locals we scoffed down some quality cheap burgers then feeling bad hired kayaks and paddled up the river in a attempt to burn off our gluttony. ... in the lobby for some liquid refreshments, pretzels, trail mix and popcorn. We didn’t make it to Broussards because of traffic and it was so far out of the way to the hotel, so Rosalind settles for a bowl of soup and I had a Whataburger.
The last thing we talked about before going to bed was that if she didn’t feel better in the morning, she needed to see a doctor.
